About Us
Many people ask me all the time why did I establish Girl Flight, Inc. And my response is simple....I’m a mother of three girls and I want them to feel important, empowered and valued in a world that doesn’t have their best interest at heart. But I didn’t want to stop with my girls....I want ALL GIRLS to feel that way. During Girl Flight’s Soar Saturday Mentoring Sessions, we prioritize creating a safe haven for our girls/young ladies to share, learn, develop and blossom.
During our sessions, these ladies have shared their victories and hardships and trusted us enough to help them figure out what’s their next move. To be honest, these ladies inspire me to be a better woman. Girl Flight has been deemed a “sisterhood” by our ladies. We hope you’ll join us in ensuring that this sisterhood is always there to support and mentor them. The Founder and Executive Director, Crystal Jones-Thompson, established Girl Flight, Inc. because there aren't any youth centers or youth organizations in our community that girls can turn to for support. She decided the best way to solve this problem is to establish an organization that's designed to support, develop and transform the young girls in our community into confident, ambitious, respectful, and authentic young women.
For the last 10 years, our “Soar Saturday” mentoring sessions have provided our girls with caring mentors from a diverse variety of professionals who are committed to teaching girls critical life and communication skills. Every fourth Saturday, we expose our girls to a variety of things via hands-on activities focused on setting goals, etiquette, effective communication, health and wellness, self-defense, and much more -- all in a safe and welcoming environment with women who are interested in the girls’ futures.​

Services We Offer
Monthly Mentoring Sessions: We organize monthly mentorship sessions where youth can connect with mentors, participate in group activities, and receive ongoing support and guidance in a structured and nurturing environment. Our dedicated mentors work closely with each youth to provide personalized guidance, encouragement, and advice tailored to their unique needs and goals.

Life Skills Training: We provide workshops and sessions on essential life skills such as communication, leadership, financial literacy, and decision-making, empowering youth to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Community Engagement: Girl Flight, Inc. facilitates community service projects, volunteer opportunities, and leadership development activities to encourage youth to become active and engaged citizens in their communities.

Hygiene Products Drive: We conduct regular drives to collect and distribute hygiene products to youth in need, ensuring they have access to essential items for personal care and hygiene. Our goal is to adopt 50 classrooms to fully stock every school year.

Prom Dress Drive: Our annual prom dress drive provides formal attire to young ladies who may not have the means to purchase dresses or accessories, allowing them to participate in important milestones with confidence, joy, and style.

Impact and Success Stories: Through our programs, we have seen remarkable transformations in the lives of our youth participants. Many of our mentees have gone on to achieve academic success, pursue higher education, started their own businesses, and become leaders within our organization and in their communities.
